Washington & Jefferson College, also referred to as W & J College or W&J, is a private liberal arts college in Washington, which is a city in the US state of Pennsylvania, serving as the county seat of Washington County, with a population estimated at a number of more than 15 000 inhabitants, during the 2000 census.
The college was established in 1781, which makes it one of the oldest colleges in America. W&J's athletic teams are known as the Presidents and they compete in NCAA Division III. Their distinctive colors are red and black.
